My Laptop
This is what I got last week -
Dell Inspiron E1505, Intel Core Duoprocessor T2250 (2MB/1.73GHz/533MHz)
15.4 Inch TrueLife Wide-screenWXGA
2GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm
Running Windows Vista
One thing I cannot stand about Dell is those silly partitons (or lack of). 10 gigs for Recovery space?!? And it would not let me partition the main drive or reduce the volume size, etc. So, I reformatted and reinstalled Vista. I was able to create my partitions and get up and running in about 2 hrs. Gone are the days of needing to reinstall one too many drivers, etc. Sweet.
BUT - one problem. It seems Vista has a problem with it's wireless connections. 50% of the time I cannot connect to the wireless and get a message that I have limited connectivity or local access only. WTF?! Yet, the laptop running XP is connected fine. So after much searching message boards, technet, etc. I find a hotfix from Microsoft, which apparently you need to call to obtain. After refusing to pay $75 for help, I finally get the Hotfix emailed to me. It's installed but I reset the router in order to connect to the net. So I am not really sure if the Hotfix worked or not. We'll see.
I was hoping that by having a laptop, where I can go anywhere, have my 'own' space, that I might blog more. We'll see... so far that hasn't happened.
