Spent
Well, that was certainly a busy weekend. What a brilliant weekend, though.
Friday, spoke with Enfys and arranged to meet up on Saturday evening. Of course, Saturday it was raining in Denver and snowing in the High Country. Typical. We’ve had great, wonderful weather recently, but now, when I need to drive up to Winter Park, it bloody snows.
After encountering fallen rocks on I-70, we made it up to Winter Park around 6pm.

It was so great to see En again. We met her new guy, Mark, as well.
Just a little background – I met Enfys when I was living in London and shared a flat with her. Even after everything that happened in London, we have remained friends, to this day. Oh, she is quite tall as well, 6’1”! She is the one that introduced me to Long Tall Sally and some of the other great shops in London that cater to the tall female.
Mark is quite nice and very personable, so he and James had things to talk about. Usually James thinks most people are ‘nobs’, but he really likes En and liked Mark, too.
We headed to ‘downtown’, if you can call it that, Winter Park and had dinner. It was great to catch up with everything Enfys is doing these days. After a several hour dinner, we headed back to their Hotel Bar and had a few drinks.
I cannot express how much fun it is to be around Enfys! She is a blast and I really enjoy her company.

I decided to come back up to WP on Sunday to go skiing. Thankfully, the roads were clear on Sunday, so the drive up was ok. As it was so sunny and blue skies on Sunday, I figured the skiing would be nice. Oh no, there has to be a MASSIVE dark cloud just sitting over Winter Park. Typical. Since En and Mark’s passes were good for Copper, we decided to drive up there instead. After a nice drive through the Mtns, had ‘tea’ then hit the slopes. The skiing was good, although was a bit slushy towards the end of the day. But a good soak in the hot tub made the day of skiing, just sort of melt away.
It was hard to say goodbye (and makes me sort of miss London) but talks of meeting in Las Vegas made things a bit easier. Overall, a busy-busy fun-fun excellent weekend, which went by, much too quickly.
