When you come to the end of your rope …

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.
— Franklin D. Roosevelt

First off, Happy Birthday to me! I am 21 … for the 7th time. Sweet.

Yesterday, had a mini-breakdown. I’m not scared to admit it; I really just had a meltdown. This meltdown also involved eating 4; yes FOUR, Swiss Cake rolls, half a bag of Maltesers and several other things which aren’t so good for you.

What brought all this on, you ask? Here, I’ll list them

1. I was turning a year older tomorrow (which is now today)
2. Health issues waying on my mind
3. Dealing with the new car – insurance, loans, etc etc

Oh yeah, number one, huge reason, found out that we lost a very important contract at work. What does this mean for me and my job? Well, it’s all up in the air. After 7 years, I am quite comfortable here and a. don’t want a new position b. don’t want to work for a new company c. don’t want a new job, period.

I panic, when I receive this new. I call James immediately and tell him to STOP and not mail off the paperwork for this fancy new $70k car. Just hold off until I am home and we can talk about this. Sadly, we decided to hold off on the car. I felt horrible. I really think my Hubs deserves something nice for himself. He gives me so much and rarely gets anything nice for himself. When he does, it’s because I nagged him half-to-death to get it. I suppose, it’s probably better not to be paying $1050 a month for a car, when I am unsure of my job. I was still sad. Hubs took it well and said yes, he was disappointed but there will be other cars. What a good guy. I love him.

I was ready to cancel my little Birthday gathering for Saturday – most people are out of town and I just felt blah. I talked with Kath, who being the great, wonderful, amazing friend and person that she is, said a party should still be had. She graciously assisted with the invites – despite most everyone being gone. But honestly, I just want to drink, hang out with my good friends (whoever is able to make it) and just relax. Or try to.

I love Kath. She’s awesome. Don’t worry James, I love you too :)

The girls at work today decorated my desk and brought in tons of yummy food. I have great co-workers too. Really, I am a lucky girl.

I am hanging onto that knot, tightly and not ready to let go, just yet.
