Almost Ready
In 14 days, J and I leave for our trip. I need a break and am very much looking forward to getting away (and out of the country).
I think we’ve sorted our itinerary out now. I would like to go to Phuket and hang on the beach but we’ve decided to stick with Chiang Mai instead. One day, we will go back to Thailand and more than likely we’ll go to Phuket/beaches/etc. We are spending one less day in Chiang Mai to give us more time in Singapore. We want to be able to properly celebrate our nieces and nephew’s Birthday’s while we are there. And before they all move to Mumbai, in August (Yikes!).
I am most excited about going to Cambodia. Although, we are only going to Siem Reap, I just cannot wait to see Angkor Wat. Plus, Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, which ever you’d prefer, is another place I cannot wait to see.
The shopping and nightlife is another part of this trip that I need. Retail therapy and booze. With R&A having a nanny, they will be able to take us out in Singapore for some party time, in the evenings. Although, I think we’ve decided that getting superbly drunk, thus requiring days of recovery, will not happen. I don’t want to spend my precious time, with my head in a Singapore toilet.
I am already thinking about where we should go next (I know, wait until this trip is done but I cannot help it). I’d really like to go to Israel, but I think that will be put off for awhile, until, if ever, things settle down. Otherwise, hit up the Scandinavian countries. I’d really like to see where my Grandmother was born in Denmark and see those lost lingering Swedish cousins. I used to write to one of them, Christine, but haven’t heard from her in about 15 years. Hum. Either one of those or head back down to Peru and dodge scary snakes and capybaras.
Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!
