No More Rain?

Some of you may know that we got a new car last week. It was somewhat of a surprise to me (really, quite a long story). I had been hounding the Hubs to get a new car for quite awhile now, as his, basically, is crap. Went to look at new Mustangs, which he wanted and the car he has already is a Mustang. But being James, he wanted something no one else really has. We looked at Shelby’s, Foose’s and Rousch’s. Nice cars, for sure, but pricey ( and possibly just a little bit ostentatious and pretentious? )

Then, we go to Michigan. On a whim we stop by a Ford Dealership, nothing but just stock Mustangs. Drats. I recognized one of the salesmen … I knew him from my High School/Freedom Village Days. Anyway, he runs after us, as we start to pull away. He tells us the Lincoln Mercury dealer happens to have a 2007 Ford GT 500 Shelby Mustang, Convertible. Exactly what the Hubs wants. We go over there. It’s Saturday though, most banks are closed and oh my husband left his wallet back at my parents. Anyway, we begin the paperwork for the loan etc. It’s a good dealer, cheaper than buying it here in Colorado. The guy bought it directly from Ford in Detroit and has only 197 miles on it.

Fast forward to the next week – find out that my job situation is probably going to be changing and maybe not the best time to be buying a very expensive new car. My husband tells me, he shredded the (approved) loan and car paperwork and decided not to do it. I was sad and felt he deserved this new car. For the next few days, all I see on the roads are Mustangs… no Shelby’s of course, but still Mustangs.

Thursday rolls around, I pull up to our house and see his car sitting outside, which is quite odd. Open the garage and there is a beauty of a car. That little stinker lied to me! He did get the car and a payment that is more than our mortgage. Ouch.

So, last weekend it was rainy and cold. We were able to go out for a drive, for about 20 mins, before it started raining. I’ll tell you though, despite the fact that I hate, hate FORDS, this car is hot. In fact, I can still feel that low heavy vibration from it. Ahem.

We are hoping this weekend, to put the top down and go for a ride.
